made this as a 3-month daily planner/journal by simply cutting notebook paper in half (just eyeballed it), then folding a small stack of those half-sheets in half.  each (side of a) page of this little book (1/4 sheet of notebook paper) represented a day.  i nailed two holes in the crease and put jute twine through it.  the cover was from a trader joes bag that i’d bought all the groceries for a road trip in, with some fibrous tissue paper stuff glued on top & then i applied some cheapo watercolors.  took almost no time at all to make, weighed nothing, and packed absolutely flat.  and it kept all my notes for the entire summer.  i’ve made many of these over the years, but this one was the first and it’s still my favorite.  this one covered june-july-august, 2000.
(whoa… that’s 12 years ago… i was 18 when i made this.  with all the things i’ve lost and all the places i’ve lived since then, i’m truly surprised i’ve hung onto it.)
